Our tour guide (for both trips), Nat, was great fun (some might say a little eccentric, but in a good way) - she took over photography duties and got some great shots to remind us of our time in Bangkok. When on the Tiger Temple trip she knew all of the best tigers to be with for the various elements of the tour and also all the best places to stand for the best photos. Riding an elephant bare back and taking a 'bath' with it is certainly not something you do every day and I would strongly recommend taking part in this trip (it is an early start if you combine it with the Tiger Temple tour) as it is a once in a life time experience. On the trip of Bangkok Nat explained all about the religious elements of the country, for example the different types of Buddha, what they mean and how you could tell the differences between them. I highly recommend using Tours with Tong for anything Bangkok related - I have no doubt they will happily help no matter what your requirement. Regards, Alex Wright. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We went on the Tiger Temple tour, and Elephant bathing experience on our first full day in Thailand. Kung, your guide, was amazingly friendly and had our day all planned out when she collected us at our hotel at 5 (am!) in the morning.. We strongly recommend that anyone considering a visit to the Temple book the morning tour because it truly is an experience you will never forget - The extra money is well worth it because you have real "face time" with some lovely tigers, and, if you are a bit lucky, get the chance to play with the cutest, most cuddly little tigers on earth! Obviously we were a bit apprehesive about petting the larger cats but with Kung's encouragement, did play with some of the older animals - Again, what a wonderful experience and something we will never forget. After the Tiger Temple we went to bathe the elephants and this is something that, again, will stay with us for the rest of our lives. We met Full Moon (our elephant) at around mid day, fed her bunches of bananas and, after this gentle introduction (and a hair raising ride down a hill to the river!) spent the most amazing time having fun in the river with her. All we can say is that this is a MUST do! What a wonderful introduction to Thailand and the amazing Thai people... Kung was super, gave us lots of advice about what else to do in Thailand and took hundreds of photos throughout the day. Yes, we do have our memories, but seeing the photos all over again bring these to life so we definitely would recommend you to anyone thinking of visiting Thailand. A day like this is a must do and we would not do it with anyone else. Please feel free to use us as a reference... We hope to be back soon (perhaps to celebrate our first anniversary!?) and would love to see more of your amazing country with your very special guides. All the best, Des and Stephanie |
